This kid was awesome. He was always banging on tables and had the cutest facial expressions. Still working on that slideshow, maybe another day or two (hopefully).

Meet Linda and John. Very, very cool people. I want to post something about each of our team members, but I really want to do it in slideshow form. I’m running out of time, so I may have to resort to writing things down, but I’m trying to avoid that if possible.

Sorry for the lag. I want to make a slideshow to share about my trip but things have been pretty busy! I’ll try to have one of the videos up by this week, but no promises :/

Meet Jose

Jose has osteogenesis imperfecta. It’s a rare genetic disease that causes bones to be very brittle. It also causes the bones to be deformed as well. Despite this, Jose is a smart kid. This is just one of the children at the Casa del Amor orphanage. They take in children with special needs and do a great job of loving on them and growing them both physically and spiritually. I believe they have 47 children currently at the orphanage. From newborns and up!

Check out their site and see what they’re all about!

Love is the difference

As a disclaimer, this photo is not indicative of the amount of happiness the mountain villagers experience on a daily basis. It’s just a picture I took of one of the village kids. However, there was definitely a difference in the level of interaction with the village kids and the kids from Love the Child orphanage. I truly believe that love was the factor that made all the difference in the world.

I think it’s lame for me to do this, but I’ll share more about it later. I’m still trying to unwind from the trip. Lo siento!
