Well, I bought the song today and looked up the lyrics and it’s about God singing to man. It’s such a humbling song. I wonder what the song writer went through while writing this. He must have been in a place of such brokenness.

I could sit here and ramble on and on about the lyrics, but I think reading through them would probably be more meaningful to you. When I think about what Jesus did on the Cross, sometimes I think I know what it meant. But whenever I really think about it, I don’t think I will ever grasp the gravity of it all. It truly was an amazing gift.

Heh. I was thinking about Christmas and I then I wrote about Easter. I guess it’s ok because it all comes to the same conclusion. God is love.

I think my favorite part was when she says, “YOU DON’T WANNA FIGHT ME!”

I’m going to go against the grain here, so if you’re going to hate, just remember: haters wanna hate.

Overall, I thought the movie was OK. It wasn’t spectacular, but good. I feel like it’s one of those movies you can watch once, appreciate it for what it is, and not be able to watch it again (kind of like Little Miss Sunshine). There’s obviously some deep things going on during the movie. Not all families or relationships are perfect, but that’s LIFE. So deal with it. Got it.

The music on the other hand was nothing short of amazing. I thought Karen O’s stuff was pretty good, but was REALLY impressed by Carter Burwell. Actually, come to think of it, the two compliment each other so well. Really an impressive score and soundtrack.

So it was a good movie. Great in some regards and just so-so in others. In any case, it’s worth watching in the theater, but in hindsight, I wouldn’t mind watching it at home either. Cheers.

This song is about the messiness of life. Yet, when we step back we find that it is the beautiful mosaic that we are a part of. We go through life learning how to see this. We grow, we learn. When you think of O Holy Night, there is this idea of quietness and rest, which is how the song starts. But when you think about a night being divine and the fullness of God becoming flesh, that is an extremely intense moment. This song [Traveler's Song] is what gave birth to the entire 3 album Travel series. Travel is a subject that seems to open up all sorts of songs about the long journey. Although many of my songs have been about home, I have come to realize that this life here is, in essence, varying spaces that we travel through. Hence came the 3 EP’s releasing every 4 months this year featuring air travel, sea travel, and land travel.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but Future of Forestry is one of THE MOST TALENTED bands I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. These guys are musical geniuses.

Travel II EP is going to be released soon and this time the theme is travel by sea. So far I like Set your Sails the best. The deep rumble of the bass accompanied by the treble of the cymbals really give you a sense of the ocean–waves pounding on the rocks and the shower of water that accompanies it.
